In 1974 a group of prewar and early postwar BMW owners who were members of the BMWCCA started the BMW Vintage/Classic Car Register. Shortly thereafter they split off and started their own club. Their main objectives were finding parts and the exchange of technical information to keep their cars running. In 2004, the club became officially recognized by BMW AG (Munich). Its focus now is to promote the ownership, preservation, restoration, use and visibility of classic BMW cars. While there are still quite a few members who own prewar and early postwar BMWs, the majority of our 580 members are owners of BMWs from the 1960s, 70s, and 80s. Our club publishes a quarterly newsletter The Ultimate Classic, and organizes multi-day driving tours in different parts of the country. Members can also be found showing and driving their classic BMWs at BMW CCA and other non-club events. Membership dues are currently $50 per calendar year and are used for the production and distribution of The Ultimate Classic. Our club has no professional staff and is entirely volunteer-driven. We do this just for fun.
